A quick stroll through this week鈥檚 Offsite 2005 event at BRE revealed a depressing sight: through coloured render applications without protective or decorative beading.

I looked at some of the properties and spotted damaged edges, bell-casts and uneven finishes around windows. The expansion joints on show were with few exceptions poorly finished or just plain unsightly.

Is off-site production going to mean low prices and lower quality or more advanced production methods providing quality at better prices? I hope it's the latter.
