I am writing regarding your article (20 October, page 11) that says the RICS is considering selling its data and research arm, the ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø Cost Information Service (BCIS).

I am impressed by the services provided by the BCIS for the RICS’ members, especially the online cost information and the Dilapidations Price Book.

I do not believe that the same service and value for money could be provided by an outside commercial business and therefore strongly oppose any move by the RICS to sell the organisation.
