More good faith may be what鈥檚 needed in the industry but unfortunately it isn鈥檛 what we鈥檙e getting

Rachel Barnes鈥 article (, page 41) on good faith was fascinating. In my opinion, her  thought that 鈥淓nglish law appears to be swimming against the tide鈥 - although I鈥檓 sure acurate - shows a misunderstanding of our country鈥檚 industry.

The good old days when optimistic ideas of trust and collaboration, like Egan鈥檚 鈥減artnering鈥 on projects, are unfortunately long gone. In the current environment it鈥檚 dog eat dog and the big dogs are the big contractors. As a subcontractor for 30 years (thankfully now retired) I hear terrible stories from former colleagues still working. More good faith may be what鈥檚 needed in the industry but unfortunately it isn鈥檛 what we鈥檙e getting.
