Chief executive of the Architects Registration Board quits to join Institution of Engineering and Technology
The chief executive of the Architects Registration Board has quit to join the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
Alison Carr had been at the helm of the ARB for seven years, but will now become director of governance and policy at the IET in February.
Carr said: 鈥淚 have enjoyed my years at the ARB and am confident that the organisation is in good shape to contribute to the government鈥檚 periodic review and the future regulation of architects.鈥
Beatrice Fraenkel, the chair of the ARB, said both she and the board were 鈥渟orry to see Alison go鈥.
She added: 鈥淒uring her tenure, we have modernised our services and created a more accessible register, as well as taking on the role as the UK鈥檚 competent authority, helping to ensure the mobility of UK architects across Europe. Alison is a first-class professional and has led her staff team with aplomb and good humour.鈥
The ARB board is to start the process of recruiting a new chief executive.
