RMJM has unveiled a new housing model which is heated by occupants and appliances alone.
The MiLoft housing model uses ‘Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery’ (MVHR) technology designed by Max Fordham Consulting Engineers, which claims to negate the need for a traditional heating system.
Using the MVHR system heat generated within the home by occupants and appliances can be reused to maintain a constant indoor temperature.
Double height loft style and open plan living space design also provides natural ventilation in high summer temperatures, reducing the air conditioning requirement.
The design also incorporates high levels of air tightness and rainwater harvesting.
