4:35PM Optimistic DTI figures show UK construction industry similar levels to 80s
The latest RICS report has pointed to a healthy construction industry in the UK. Quoting figures released by the DTI, the UK Economic Brief for September 2006 confirmed that the construction industry has seen continuous growth in the second quarter.
The report also predicts a future construction industry levelling the late 1980s boom period. The RICS says investment in the sector has also been rising year-on-year for two consecutive quarters after a year and a half in decline.
The report states that rising activity levels have kept demand for labour on a rising trend.
