Willmott Dixon will refit 1980s built office block in Shoreditch
Willmott Dixon has won a 拢20m contract to refurbish and sustainably refit an office block in Shoreditch, London.
The contractor will completely refit the 1980s built Summit House in North London for client Low Carbon Workplace, a consortium including Stanhope, Threadneedle and the Carbon Trust, to make the 9,500 sqm office space meet category A energy efficiency standards.
Key alterations to the office include removing an existing storey and replacing it with two new storeys to make it six levels, and creating a new copper glass fa莽ade.
The refit is due to be finished in August 2016, and is expected to attract a host of tech companies given its proximity Old Street鈥檚 Silicon Roundabout, home to several high-profile start-ups developing new technology.
