Two year scheme will cost 拢34.5m
Vinci Construction UK has been handed a 拢34.5 million two-year contract by Eastbourne Borough Council to transform Devonshire Park, home to the Aegon International tennis tournament.
The firm said the project sets out to 鈥渃reate a nationally important cultural and tennis destination.鈥
Work is already underway, and a new conference centre and restaurant, restoration of three listed buildings, improved tennis facilities, a distinct park entrance, and new and improved public spaces will be delivered over the course of the contract.
The project contains 鈥渟ignificant logistical challenges鈥 as parts of the building and park will remain in full operation throughout the construction process, according to Vinci Construction UK.
