Two year scheme will cost 拢34.5m
Vinci Construction UK has been handed a 拢34.5 million two-year contract by Eastbourne Borough Council to transform Devonshire Park, home to the Aegon International tennis tournament.
The firm said the project sets out to 鈥渃reate a nationally important cultural and tennis destination.鈥�
Work is already underway, and a new conference centre and restaurant, restoration of three listed buildings, improved tennis facilities, a distinct park entrance, and new and improved public spaces will be delivered over the course of the contract.
The project contains 鈥渟ignificant logistical challenges鈥� as parts of the building and park will remain in full operation throughout the construction process, according to Vinci Construction UK.
