Three candidates are vying to succeed Ruth Reed as president of the RIBA

With campaigning finished, about 29,000 members will now elect either Angela Brady, Richard Parnaby or Roger Shrimplin to lead the architecture body for a two-year term from September 2011, with voting closing on 22 July. The winning candidate will serve as president elect from this September.

Brady set up London-based private practice Brady Mallalieu Architects, which specialises in sustainable design.

Parnaby is a professor of architecture at the University of the West of England, and is a former president of the Royal Society of Architects in Wales.

Shrimplin is chairman of the RIBA Insurance Agency advisory board and a RIBA delegate to the Architects’ Council of Europe.
