Ringway, BAM Nuttall and Balfour Beatty/Birse also named on new Midlands framework for schemes up to 拢12m

Four teams will share up to 拢300m of highways work after winning places on a new Midlands framework.

The four contractors that have won a place on the Midlands Highway Alliance are a Tarmac/Carillion joint venture, Ringway, BAM Nuttall and Balfour Beatty/Birse. The framework, which is for medium-sized schemes, will be officially launched next week.

The shortlisted firms that missed out are Interserve, May Gurney, Jackson Civil Engineering and a joint venture between Aggregate Industries and Geoffrey Osborne.

The works will have an upper value of 拢12m, but the client says the total volume of work will be worth up to 拢300m. The framework is a collaboration of 13 local authorities across the Midlands and the Highways Agency.

Work will start in May.
