THE London Borough of Newham has announced a shortlist of three for its £30m-plus housing PFI scheme to refurbish 1200 homes.

The first team, ASPIRE, consists of contractor Morgan Sindall, social housing specialists Lovell, the Bank of Scotland and housing associations Paddington Churches Housing Association and Ujima.

The second, Partners for Improvement in Newham, is made up of United House and Rydon Construction joint venture Unitary, housing association Hyde North Side, Halifax and Barony Group.

The third consortium consists of Laing Investments, Laing Partnership Housing, the London and Quadrant Housing Trust, and BNP Paribas.
