Government loans 拢65m to upgrade area鈥檚 infrastructure
A PRS scheme being built by Quintain in the shadow of Wembley stadium has been handed a 拢65m funding boost by the government.
The loan will be matched by the developer with the money being ploughed into upgrading infrastructure in the area, including improved car and coach parking along with an energy centre and the first phase of a new public park.
Quintain chief executive Angus Dodd added: 鈥淣ot only will this funding allow these critical elements to be brought forward, it will also support the more rapid delivery of new homes.鈥
The scheme at Wembley Park in north-west London will see 7,600 homes built over seven years 鈥 with 6,800 of the homes built for rent.
The development, designed by architect Cartwright Pickard, will include a mix of studios, one, two and three-bed properties.
Announcing the loan, housing minister Alok Sharma said: 鈥淒evelopments like Wembley Park are a great example of鈥oosting the choice and quality of homes on the market.鈥
Work on the scheme is set to be completed in 2026.
