Development arm of St John鈥檚 masterminding Oxford North job

A scheme being masterminded by the development arm of St John鈥檚 College in Oxford has been given planning by the city council.

The Oxford North project has been on the blocks for nearly a decade and involves building nearly 500 homes, along with shops, bars and restaurants as well as public space centred around a so-called innovation district.

It is being developed by Thomas White Oxford and will also involve improvements to the nearby A40 and A44.

Oxford North is expected to contribute around 拢150m every year into the local economy, the developer added.

Firms working on the job include Fletcher Priest Architects, cost consultant Gardiner & Theobald as well as engineer AKT II and M&E engineer Hoare Lea. Landscape architect is Townshend.
