A third of homeowners resolve to install new kitchen or bathroom in 2006.
Home improvements top the list of homeowners' reolutions for New Year, according to a survey by portal propertyfinder.com
35.5% of homeoners resolved to install a new kitchen or bathroom in 2006, whilst 26.1% said that they hoped to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.
The more traditional resolutions of moving the children out and remortgaging, trailed in 6th and 8th respectively.
Jim Buckle, chief executive of propertyfinder.com, said: "People often make improvements to their homes before putting them on the market, which is interesting, as we have recently predicted that transaction volumes could rise by 30% in the New Year."
However, Buckle added that the resolution could go the way of the vows to diet and abstain from alcohol: "Many of us have a tendency to make grand plans for our homes at the start of the New Year, which can fall by the wayside by February."
