AS WELL as its battle royale over Wembley, Multiplex is involved in dispute over a 拢100m scheme in London's Docklands

The contractor won a 拢1.3m adjudication against its clients on the project and is now going to the High Court to have the decision enforced.

The client is join West India Quay Development Co (Eastern), a joint venture between developers Marylebone Warwick Balfour and the Manhattan Loft Company.

The case will centre on Multiplex's handling of One West India Quay, a 32-storey hotel and apartment block close to Canary Wharf.

Multiplex and West India blame each other for a six-month delay in the completion of the project, which was first planned to finish in May 2004 but was not handed over until December.

Multiplex claimed that design changes had caused the delay and won the initial adjudication on 24 March this year. However, the money was never paid and Multiplex is now demanding 拢1,280,000 plus interest.

The new case was expected to be heard last Thursday, but was put off until 6 June. West India is understood to be disputing the 24 March judgment.

The 93,000 m2 scheme houses 158 flats above a 12 storey Marriott Hotel. It also include a grade I-listed warehouse, converted into 107 apartments, with bars and restaurants, a 10-screen cinema and multistorey car park at ground level.

Mr Justice Ramsey will hear the case at the Technology and Construction Court.
