- Design can have a major impact on the level of hospital-associated infections, according to research led by the University of Reading. The work, conducted by The Health and Care Infrastructure Research and Innovation Centre, says that the specification of door handles, security buttons and wash-hand basins is an important factor in the spread of infection. It adds that a door with a handgrip typically become more densely contaminated with microbes than a push door with a flat metal plate.
- Dulux Trade Paints has launched an information guide called ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø a Sustainable Future. The online booklet, available from the Dulux Trade website, covers how the firm is meeting targets for economic, environmental and social elements of sustainability. The brochure also offers information and advice to professional tradesmen on the sustainable application and disposal of products.

Condition Surveys and Asset Data Capture outlines the benefits of regular condition surveys and data capture in planning for future maintenance and refurbishments.
