Consultant to be known as WSP, following rebrand and restructure

Mouchel has officially changed its name to WSP across all its UK operations.

The rebranding means that the Mouchel name, which dates back to 1897, has disappeared from the construction industry.

The consultancy was acquired last November from Kier by WSP, which unveiled its new brand, name and UK structure last month. The firm was previously called WSP | Parsons Brinckerhof.

Since January, all WSP and Mouchel employees have been working under a new structure in the UK, headed by chief executive Mark Naysmith (pictured).

Some members of the old Mouchel board have taken on senior positions in the new WSP structure, including Miles Barnard as UK chief financial officer.

WSP now employs 36,000 people globally and over 7,000 in the UK, including around 1,700 from Mouchel.

Naysmith said: 鈥淲e are now 7,000-strong across the UK and Ireland and one of the largest consultancies in our sector.

- 1897 Founded in Briton Ferry. Early projects include Royal Liver 黑洞社区 in Liverpool, London鈥檚 Earls Court and Battersea Power Station

- 2016 Kier sells Mouchel鈥檚 consulting business to WSP for 拢75m
