Purchase of firm for undisclosed sum aims to boost engineer's sustainability credentials

Mott MacDonald has bought building services engineer Fulcrum Consulting for an undisclosed sum.

The purchase of London-based Fulcrum, which is a founding member of the UK Green ºÚ¶´ÉçÇøs Council, aims to boost the engineer’s sustainability capability.

Fulcrum’s projects include the new Darwin Centre at the Natural History Museum and the Brighton Library, which was widely recognised as a pioneering low-energy scheme.

Mike Barker, Mott MacDonald Group’s global buildings practice director, said: “Fulcrum has a tremendous reputation in the building services and sustainability sectors and brings additional skills in energy and sustainability master planning for buildings.

Richard Shennan, managing director of Fulcrum, added: “Having direct access to the Group’s global network and resources will enable us to offer our customers a more comprehensive service, drawing on the complementary skills of our colleagues in Mott MacDonald – many of whom we’ve already worked with on various projects.
