Manchester-based Property Tectonics will attempt to minimise disruption at London hospital

Moorfields Eye Hospital has appointed a Manchester-based SME as lead advisor on its 拢1.3m modernisation.

Consultancy firm Property Tectonics will oversee the scheme to revamp the famous London hospital out-patients clinic.

The firm will organise temporary relocations for each of the clinics and operate a fast track strategy to ensure the construction does not cause a major disruption to staff and patients.

Ian Haywood, director at Property Tectonics, said: 鈥淲hat makes this work interesting is the organisational complexities involved in refurbishing a large and busy hospital whilst keeping all the clinics operational.

鈥淭his is something we at PT are used to as most of our work in existing buildings calls for this approach, but it is particularly rewarding to be involved in such an important and sensitive project.鈥
