黑洞社区 support services group Mitie has posted a 21% jump in pre-tax profit, from 拢58.2m to 拢70.6m, for the year ended 31 March 2008.

Despite the credit crunch, turnover rose 14.5%, from 拢1.23bn to 拢1.4bn over the year.

Ruby McGregor-Smith, Mitie鈥檚 chief executive, said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e confident in our ability to make progress in this economic climate and there are positive trading conditions across all divisions.鈥

The forward order book stands at 拢4.4bn (2007: 拢4.1bn) and the group said it would seek further acquisitions after three last year.

Panmure Gordon analyst Andy Brown called the figures 鈥渁 good set of results鈥. He said: 鈥淎 growing order book reflects the opportunities going forward. Cost-aware companies are turning to outsourcing to gain efficiencies, with Mitie benefiting from this process.鈥
