Framework covers work ranging from demolition to construction and refurbishment

The University of Manchester is looking for a number of contractors to join a 拢260m framework covering a range of building work. 

The Construction Works Framework will be let under four lots ranging up to 拢20m and will cover activities including demolition and earthworks, construction work, refurbishment of rundown buildings, and landscaping. 

The red brick university鈥檚 new framework runs from this September for four years and contractors have until 11 April to bid.

惭补苍肠丑别蝉迟别谤鈥檚 last construction works framework, which was put in place in 2016, had been due to come to an end in the summer of 2020, but was extended due to the covid-19 pandemic. 

Last November, court papers revealed the university was suing Laing O鈥橰ourke and architect John McAslan + Partners over claims that defective brickwork on a teaching building cost it more than 拢13m.
