Roy Allport has been promoted from within to run the company鈥檚 expanding Scottish business
Lend Lease has announced that Roy Allport has been promoted from within to run the company鈥檚 expanding Scottish business from October.
Allport, currently operations director, will succeed Gordon Anderson, who is retiring after 40 years but will stay in place until the end of the year 鈥渢o ensure a smooth transition,鈥 the company said.
Lend Lease said that Anderson had 鈥済uided Lend Lease鈥檚 Scottish business to a string of major contract wins鈥 in the past year including the 拢89m University of Strathclyde Technology and Innovation Centre, the 拢23m replacement Mearns Academy, a place on Aberdeenshire Council鈥檚 capital projects framework, and the 拢25m replacement Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health at the University of Aberdeen.
Anderson has also overseen the winning of Northumbria NHS Trust鈥檚 拢70m Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital at Cramlington.
He said: 鈥淩oy joined the company 25 years ago and has worked for me during the last 19. Throughout this time he has been a loyal, dedicated and committed member of my team, and seven years ago was promoted to operations director. His latest promotion is well deserved and he has my complete confidence.
鈥淚 am proud both personally and professionally to leave Lend Lease in Scotland in a very strong position, despite the backdrop of challenging times in the industry. We are in good shape, with our business in Scotland forecasting a turnover greater than 拢130m for our next financial year and continuing to grow into new sectors.鈥
Simon Hipperson, Lend Lease鈥檚 chief executive in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: 鈥淲e are sorry to see Gordon leave after 40 years of service and I would like to thank him for his contribution to our success. We are confident that Roy will continue to grow our Scottish business in line with our ambitious plans for the rest of the region.鈥
