Construction management is no longer a popular contract form on larger schemes, according to the RICS’ latest Contract In Use survey.
The survey reported that it made up 1% of total contracts surveyed in 2004 – just 19 occasions in all.
used to be associated with larger projects but only three out of the 19 schemes were for projects greater than £2m in value.
In the 2001 survey it was used solely on projects tipping the £2m mark.
In the RICS’ latest survey, the larger schemes, worth between £2m and £10m, used the JCT construction management documentation instead.
n ڶ has learned that the ڶ Cost Information Service (BCIS), the research arm of the RICS, has attracted the interest of a bidder. A spokesperson said there were “no plans to sell off the BCIS”.
