Rem Koolhaas’ Office of Metropolitan Architecture has pulled out of the shortlist to masterplan the post-2012 Olympic Park, it has emerged.
OMA was the biggest name on the list and considered the favourite among the six teams shortlisted for the masterplan, which will set out the future of the Olympic Park after the Games.
An OMA spokesperson said: “Once we were given more information and certain conditions, we didn’t think it was a ‘must-do’.â€
The remaining bidders are consortiums led by EDAW, Arup, Urban Practitioners, and architects Witherford Watson Mann and KCAP. It is understood that two have been asked to collaborate on the masterplan.
