Kier has completed its 拢221m takeover of services firm May Gurney.
The deal sees the creation of a business turning over 拢2.8bn, with Kier combine its 拢445m services business with May Gurney to create a 拢1.1bn turnover services arm deriving two-thirds of its revenues from local authorities.
The deal will also result in around 200 job cuts from overlapping services.
For local authority clients the deal will add highways maintenance, street lighting and underground services to Kier鈥檚 roster of capabilities.
Kier鈥檚 proposed takeover, announced in April, trumped Costain鈥檚 proposed 拢178m merger with the service firm.
