Kier has won a brace of health sector contracts totalling 拢247m via the ProCure 21+ framework.

The biggest sees Kier named preferred bidder for a 拢160m contract to design and build a new critical treatment hospital for Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The new 45,000 sq m campus within the borough of Basingstoke and Deane will include a new cancer treatment centre and critical pathology laboratories. Work is to begin on site in April 2016.

It has also won a 拢25m contract to upgrade three hospitals in Boston, Grantham and Lincoln for United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust and a contract valued at approximately 拢22m to reconfigure and refurbish Dewsbury and District Hospital for the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

Kier has also been appointed by two NHS trusts as their Principal Supply Chain Partner. Wye Valley NHS Trust has appointed Kier to deliver a 拢40m programme of reconfiguration works at Hereford County Hospital, while the Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has selected the firm to execute the trust鈥檚 future estates strategy. The first phase of this includes the delivery of a psychiatric intensive care unit and an in-patient perinatal unit.

Haydn Mursell, chief executive of Kier, said: 鈥淜ier鈥檚 work under the ProCure 21+ framework has extended our position as one of the UK鈥檚 leading building providers to the healthcare sector. These awards highlight the breadth of services we are able to offer our clients, and confirm our progress with our Vision 2020 strategy.鈥
