An inquest is finally to be held into the death of a worker during the construction of Wembley stadium more than three years ago.

Patrick O鈥橲ullivan was killed in January 2004 when a tower crane collapsed on top of him. He was an employee of concrete contractor PC Harrington.

A Health and Safety Executive investigation failed to determine the cause of the accident, or who was responsible. O鈥橲ullivan鈥檚 death will now be investigated by Hornsey coroner鈥檚 court.

A memorial plaque was unveiled at Wembley this week by O鈥橲ullivan鈥檚 widow Mary. Speaking at the ceremony she said: 鈥淭his is in tribute to Pat, but also to the memory of every man who has made the same sacrifice and every man who continues to lose their life needlessly and in tragic circumstances.鈥
