So-called strategic alliance aimed at international clients
Zaha Hadid Architects says it has formed a 鈥榮trategic alliance鈥� with two practices in China and the US.
The firm has linked up with Arcplus, a Shanghai-based design firm founded back in the 1950s which Hadid in a statement said covers 鈥渃ivic, transport and corporate architecture鈥� and Wilson Associates, a Dallas-based interiors specialist.
In its statement, Hadid, which in its latest set of results saw both turnover and pre-tax profit fall last year, added: 鈥淲e see this alliance as a continuation of global best practice, pioneering research and innovation, where each of the three firms鈥� individual strengths will deliver the most ambitious projects.鈥�
The alliance will be aimed at international clients and Hadid said 鈥渢he teams will collaborate on research initiatives with a focus on high-rise buildings鈥�.
It will be formally launched in Shanghai, London and New York in the coming months.
Hadid is close to completing its first building (pictured) in New York, the 520 West 28th residential scheme next to the High Line in the Chelsea area of Manhattan.
The 11-storey building will include 39 units and is topped by a triplex penthouse which carries a pricetag of 拢40m.
