Pett: 黑洞社区 stock is becoming more important to education institutions

Designed by the firm鈥檚 building surveying team, the tool aims to help education institutions understand their long and short term expenditure on capital costs, reduce risk by establishing budgets for maintenance and repairs, and ensure that facilities are kept to a high standard.

Roy Pett, partner and project sponsor, said: 鈥満诙瓷缜 stock is becoming more important to education institutions as it can often influence students鈥 choice on where to study. We recognised that a more proactive tool to help our clients manage their property portfolio was needed.鈥

The package hopes to help meet the challenges faced by education establishments such as:

  • Establishing budgets for future maintenance and replacements
  • Sourcing funds for works
  • Understanding the extent of repairs required to maintain or replace various assets
  • Compliance to legislation
  • Current and future space planning

Kate Beech, associate building surveyor, said: 鈥淚t is clear that many educational institutions struggle with the many and varied aspects of maintaining buildings and planning for the future due to other business demands.

鈥淲e find many education establishments choose to appoint consultants such as ourselves to provide assistance with the management of their property portfolio and tools such as Aspect can assist with this.鈥
