Winning schemes will share £36m funding pot

Construction businesses are being invited to bid in two competitions worth up to £36m to fund collaborative R&D and demonstrator projects.

Both competitions are being funded by UK Research and Innovation through the Transforming Construction Challenge. 

The first competition, , will see up to £10m invested in UK businesses undertaking collaborative research and development projects.

Projects should improve productivity, quality and performance of the UK construction sector, while the cost of submitted schemes must be between £150,000 and £1.5m.

Competition two, , will see UK businesses able to apply for a share of up to £26m.

It aims to fund around 10 demonstrator projects in modern methods of construction, digital and whole-life asset performance.

Both competitions open on 28 August and close on 30 October.
