Subcontractor will make steel girders for both ends of the crossing

Cleveland Bridge has won a multi-million pound steel subcontract on the new 拢790m Forth Road Bridge.

Cleveland Bridge will make steel girders to support viaducts at both ends of the new crossing.

More than 100 jobs will be created at the Darlington-based firm following the award, the BBC reported.

The steel girders will support viaducts at both ends of the bridge.

Work on the Forth project 鈥 being constructed by consortium Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors, comprising Dragados, Hochtief, American Bridge and Morrison Construction 鈥 is due to finish in 2016.
