Chinese cladding firm Far East Facade has won its first skyscraper job to design and supply curtain walling for the 37-storey 鈥極ne the Elephant鈥 tower in south London.

Far East Facade 鈥 part of Far East Global, which worked on the world鈥檚 tallest tower, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai 鈥 entered the UK market in 2011.

It won its first contract in March this year from contractor Bouygues to supply curtain walling at low-rise 71 Queen Victoria Street in London.

Squire and Partners-designed One the Elephant is the centrepiece of Lend Lease鈥檚 massive regeneration of the Elephant & Castle area of London.

Managing director of Far East Facade, Peter Walker, said: 鈥淥ne the Elephant is a fantastic opportunity to further demonstrate Far East Fa莽ade鈥檚 capabilities in the UK market.

鈥淲e are thrilled to be an integral part of such a significant project for our client, Lend Lease,鈥 he said.

鈥淭his is an exciting challenge for our London team, with Squire and Partner鈥檚 design including some really interesting architectural elements, as well as being a Code 4 sustainability build.鈥
