Hospital project worth 拢153m brings contractor to round number
Construction is set to begin on Carillion's 50th PPP scheme after a 拢153m medical facility in Hertfordshire reached financial close.
The Surgicentre, to be built by Carillion's healthcare services specialist Clinicenta, is to sit alongside Lister Hospital in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
The project will involve the construction of a 拢31m building, followed by a five-year support services contract worth 拢122m. Carillion will invest 拢5.6m of equity into the building of the hospital, on which construction will begin immediately.
The project marks Carillion's 50th public-private partnership project to reach financial close. Some 18 of these have been in the healthcare sector.
