A breathable plaster that the manufacturer claims offers a long-term solution against wet walls and damp has been launched in the UK

BionicPore Plaster, which was previously only available in Germany, can be applied directly to wet walls and unlike existing plaster products there is no need to dry surfaces out first. Once applied, it dries to the touch and because it is breathable, moisture continues to be released from the plaster and from the solid wall underneath.

It can be used both internally and externally. Typical applications include the restoration and renovation of historical and listed buildings as well as new build projects. The plaster conforms to the European Norm DIN-EN 998-1, the specification for mortar for masonry – rendering and plastering mortar.
