Firm increases staff numbers by a quarter
Increased work in the UK helped swell both profits and turnover at Sheppard Robson last year.
The firm carries out around 90% of its work in the UK and a recovering domestic market meant income at the firm climbed to 拢23.9m from 拢16.2m in the year to March 2015. Pre-tax profits soared to 拢4.6m from just over 拢1m last time.
Sheppard Robson has offices in London, Glasgow and Manchester as well as an overseas outpost in Abu Dhabi.
Growing workloads here, which include a scheme to turn the old Marylebone town hall into a new base for the London Business School (pictured), saw it take on 25% more staff during the period. The number rose to 306, with the hike entirely down to the firm hiring more professional staff. The move sent the firm鈥檚 wage bill up 拢2m to 拢10.5m.
The pay packet of the highest paid employee, who is not named, shot up from 拢380,000 to 拢719,000.
