Modern Homes Ireland can produce more than 500 homes a year
Bam鈥檚 Irish operation has bought a minority stake in modular homes firm Modern Homes Ireland for an undisclosed sum.
Based in Ballyjamesduff, County Cavan, MHI can produce more than 500 steel-framed homes a year, with 80% of the units assembled in the firm鈥檚 factory prior to delivery.
Employing around 120 staff MHI expects to increase its production capacity following Bam鈥檚 investment.
With Ireland said to be in the grip of a housing crisis, Theo Cullinane, Bam Ireland鈥檚 chief executive, said modular was 鈥渃learly the future鈥.
The MHI deal was a 鈥渦nique opportunity to further develop a business, not just in housing but in modular housing, which aligns closely with our drive towards digital construction鈥, he added.
