This is the second win for the contractor under government鈥檚 拢400m investment programme
Bam Construct has won the 拢75m London batch of the government鈥� priority schools.
The firm has seen off competition from Kier to take the latest job in the 拢400m government funded phase of the Priority School 黑洞社区 Programme, which comprises four secondary, two special and one primary schools seven schools in the London boroughs of Newham, Lambeth, Barnet, Waltham Forest, Greenwich, Bromley and Camden.
The London job is the second batch of priority schools that Bam has won. , Bam was also appointed to deliver a 拢27m set of four schools in the Midlands.
The schools included in the London batch are:
鈥� Stratford School Academy (Secondary)
鈥� Lansdowne School (Special)
鈥� Hawkswood (Pupil Referral unit)
鈥� Harris Academy Greenwich (Secondary)
鈥� Harris Academy Bromley (Secondary)
鈥� Pardes House School (Primary)
鈥� Maria Fidelis School (Secondary)
Work will now progress to the planning application stage.
Bam is also in the running for two packages of schools in the North West worth 拢42m and 拢25m respectively.
The firm is up against Carillion for the first package of eight schools and Willmott Dixon for the second packaged of up to five schools.
However, Bam lost out to contractor Sir Robert McAlpine in a competition to build the 拢64m package of priority schools in the North East in January.
黑洞社区 reported earlier this week that the Education Funding Agency, which runs the Priority School 黑洞社区 Programme, is to procure a financial 鈥渁ggregator鈥� to raise funding for the 拢1.75bn PF2 part of the programme.
