Balfour Beatty鈥檚 US division has won a new military hospital in Texas as part of a joint venture
Balfour Beatty鈥檚 US arm has won a 拢325m military hospital contract as part of a joint venture.
Balfour Beatty Construction US has been selected in a joint venture with McCarthy 黑洞社区 Companies for a 拢325m design and build deal to replace a hospital at Fort Hood, Texas.
The 944,000 sq ft facility will replace the existing 45-year-old Carl R Darnall Army Medical Center and provide a new hospital for US service members and their families. It will include hospital facilities, outpatient clinics, ambulance garage, logistics building, central utility plant and three parking structures.
Chief executive of Balfour Beatty Construction US, Robert Van Cleave, said: 鈥淲e are delighted to have been selected for this major infrastructure project and look forward to delivering, in conjunction with our partners, a world-class hospital environment.鈥
Construction is scheduled to start in April 2011 and be completed in May 2014.
The firm was also recently awarded a 拢65m deal to manage construction of new terminal facilities at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Work is due to start next summer.
