Fresh plans from new developer set to restart mothballed Baltic/Cornhill development
Balfour Beatty has been appointed to build a 拢45m scheme in Liverpool, which is finally set to move forward after having been mothballed for years.
The work on Liverpool鈥檚 stalled Baltic/Cornhill development has taken a step closer to realisation as developer Neptune Developments plans to submit a fresh planning application later this month.
The site has been stalled since previous developer Windsor Developments went into liquidation after submitting plans in 2006.
Balfour Beatty has been appointed contractor for the development, which is situated near King鈥檚 Waterfront and the Liverpool One retail area.
The 拢45m scheme designed by architect Falconer Chester Hall would see the construction of four separate buildings on the site which would include 201 apartments, 200m2 of leisure and retail space and a 170-bed hotel.
Steve Parry, managing director at Neptune Developments, said: 鈥淭his is a key site in the heart of Liverpool and its proximity to the Liverpool Echo Arena and Conference Centre, Liverpool One, and of course our Mann Island scheme, make it a very attractive proposition.鈥�

Construction is scheduled to start later this year.
