Architecture and Urban Design firm Glavovic Studio has unveiled the ArtsPark in Hollywood, downtown Florida. Located at a new public art project Young Circle, the scheme provides interactive, family-oriented cultural experiences for the general public.

Key design features include site-specific artworks blended with unique natural aspects of the South Florida landscape.

Project designer Margi Nothard, explained: 鈥淭he concept of the ArtsPark is the integration of landscape and art through human discovery. It was conceived as an integrated artwork that transforms from an organic landscape into a constructed landscape.鈥�

The ArtsPark comprises multiple activity spaces designed for various activities including the Grove, a place designed for sedate activity, and a highly interactive children鈥檚 play area. There are also studios for professional artists, places for people to watch and learn about art and participatory classes.

The design is scaled to the urban space it occupies. The layered spaces and various heights reflect the 19th century American landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted鈥檚 work.

There is also a site-specific artwork created by Japanese artist Ritsuko Taho in collaboration with Nothard. Entitled Millennium Springs, the piece consists of a long, narrow fountain with jets of water that shoot into the air in concert with the life energy wave patterns measured in one of five massive baobob trees located in Young Circle and striped walkway designs that link the fountain to the tree.
