Healthcare architect to team up with multi-disciplinary firm Stantec

Anglo-US healthcare architect Anshen + Allen has been bought by Canadian consultant Stantec for an undisclosed sum.

Anshen + Allen said the deal would create a global practice of over 1,000 architects, alongside the planners engineers and surveyors in the $1.5bn turnover Stantec business.

Anshen + Allen currently employs 80 people in it Grays Inn Road offices in London, and claims to have designed 拢2.5bn-worth of healthcare buildings since it was set up in the UK in 1990.

In total Anshen + Allen employs 108 qualified architects worldwide focused on designing healthcare, education and research buildings.

Roger Swanson, Anshen + Allen鈥檚 chief executive officer, who will stay with Stantec, said his firm chose to merge with Stantec because it allowed it to compete for global projects.

He said: 鈥淛oining together allows us to plan strategically for our future as our industry undergoes profound global changes.鈥
