The Stirling prize winning practice beat out four other practices including OMA, Sn酶hetta, Wilmotte & Associ茅s and Christian de 2Portzamparc.
Stanton Williams was appointed as the lead architect in collaboration with local practice Marcillon Thuilier Architectes.
The winning concept repurposes the 17th century H么tel-Dieu hospital building and garden as the new home for the Clermont-Ferrand颅颅颅颅 Metropolitan Library and its collections.
This is the second major Stanton Williams project in France, after the practice completed the Mus茅e d鈥檃rts de Nantes in 2017.
