Multi-Contact has brought out a range of retractable shroud plugs with protective collars

The collar provides a defined handling area and extended creepage distance, allowing the plug to be rated at 600 V Cat II.

The shroud plugs are supplied on either pre-assembled leads of 1mm2 or 2.5 mm2 PVC or silicone-insulated cable, rated at 19 A or 32 A. Alternatively they can be provided with screw cable terminations for self-assembly.

IEC 61010-031 has precluded handheld use of retractable shroud plugs except for voltages below 30 V AC or 60 V DC.
