Windows from Halo are being used to bring a forties former council house up to Passivhaus standards

The project by Orbit Heart of England, a housing association managing around 14,000 properties in the West Midlands, has specified eight System10 SmartSash windows with argon-filled 44mm triple glazing to be fitted at the house in Elliot Drive, Wellesbourne, Warwickshire.

Orbit’s Passivhaus consultants Encraft chose Halo’s SmartSash because it is under consideration for certification by the Passivhaus Institute and provides a locally-sourced alternative to products that would have to be imported from Europe. Halo says the U-value of the frame is 0.829W/m2K and that of the glazing is 0.623W/m2K.
