Local authorities are fully represented on the PSCCF by Roger Latham as chairman of the Local Government Taskforce and in each of the five working groups. Local authorities have led in delivering the Latham and Egan agendas. Central government, like much of the public sector, is trying to catch up.
E-auctions have a place, but they need to be treated with caution. Having success in delivering construction solutions based on quality and price, local government will not be charging down the road of cheapest cost.
