H+H will launch a new range of larger high-insulation aircrete blocks suitable for commercial and industrial applications at Ecobuild this month.
Aircrete blocks are used as part of the firm’s Thin-joint system, which uses a quick-setting mortar allowing walls to be built without waiting the usual 24 hours for the mortar to set before loading can be applied.
The new large-format 610mm x 375mm x 100mm-thick Multi Plates, Vertical Elements that reach from floor to ceiling, and Mega Plates suitable for external and internal fire walls, mean fewer joints and therefore improved air-tightness and faster erection.
H+H says its Thin-joint blockwork can achieve U-values of 0.25W/m2K or better when using aircrete for the wall’s inner skin with a cavity of 100mm or less.
